Almond Joy Cake
Almond Joy Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 german chocolate cake mix, 2 1/2 c. sugar, 14 oz. bag coconut, 1 stick butter or margarine and 12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips (i use milk chocolate), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Mix cake as per directions on package.
Divide batter into two 9 x 13-inch pans (greased and floured).
I use an 11 x 16-inch pan.
Bake 20 minutes at 350Β°.
While cake is baking, bring to boil 1 cup milk and 1 cup sugar.
Remove from heat and add marshmallows.
Stir until melted.
Add coconut.
Pour over hot cake.
Heat to rapid boil 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup milk and butter.
Remove from heat.
Add chocolate chips and stir until melted.
Pour over hot cake.
Cover with almonds.
I usually mix 1 cup chopped almonds into the chocolate mix.
Can toast almonds also.
