Break up the cake into pieces into the pan.
Mix nectar, cornstarch, and sugar together.
On medium heat, cook until thickens and makes a pudding, stirring constantly.
Do not boil. Pour over cake and refrigerate overnight.
Either cover with Cool Whip or just dab on when served.
