Alabama Biscuits
Alabama Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. soda, 4 tbsp. sugar, 5 c. flour and 1 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Sift dry ingredients.
Cut in shortening.
Heat buttermilk until lukewarm; add yeast to buttermilk.
Add buttermilk to flour mixture.
Knead and roll out on floured board to 1/8 to 1/4-inch thickness.
Cut with biscuit cutter.
Dip biscuits in melted butter; put 2 together.
Place on pan, touching each other.
May be baked now or partially baked (light brown) and freeze in Ziploc bags.
Do not stack to freeze.
Bake at 350Β°.
