7-Layer Casserole(Serves 4 To 6) is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 c. uncooked rice, 1 c. canned whole kernel corn, undrained or equivalent frozen (sprinkle with pepper), 1 can tomato sauce and 1/2 can water, 1/2 c. finely chopped onions and 1/2 c. green pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Spray bottom of frying pan with Pam.
Cook onions until soft but not brown.
Add hamburger or ground turkey.
Saute until brown or well-cooked.
Add tomato sauce, corn and olives.
Simmer 5 to 10 minutes.
Add milk and corn meal; stir and simmer 15 minutes.
Be careful not to burn.
Add chili seasoning, depending upon desired hotness.
Cover with grated Cheddar cheese and pop into 350Β° oven until cheese melts.
Serve with green salad and French bread. Serves 6.
