Yokan is an easy dinner. Made with 2 sticks red kanten, 1 1/2 c. water, 1 can marukai koshian or tsubushian (18 oz.) and 1 1/4 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Wash kanten strip.
Water; boil until kanten dissolves. Add sugar; boil again. Add koshian or tsubushian.
Cook on low or medium heat for 20 to 30 minutes. Pour into pan and refrigerate.
