Yeast Rolls
Yeast Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. dry yeast, 1/4 c. warm water, 1 c. crisco shortening, 1/2 c. sugar and 2 c. boiling water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.
Add 1 tablespoon sugar taken from the 1/2 cup sugar; set aside.
Place shortening and remaining sugar in a large mixing bowl.
Add 2 cups boiling water. Mix well and cool to lukewarm.
Beat in eggs and yeast.
Stir in 1 1/2 cups of the flour to make a soft dough; gradually add remaining flour.
Cover bowl with plastic wrap and put a plate over the wrap.
Refrigerate 2 hours.
Push down, then refrigerate overnight.
Push down again in the morning.
Roll and cut into fold-over rolls.
Brush with melted butter.
Let rise until double in size.
Bake in hot oven.
