Yams Hawaiian Style
Yams Hawaiian Style is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 (1 lb. 2 oz.) cans yams or sweet potatoes, drained, 1 (8 1/2 oz.) can pineapple, crushed, 1/2 c. melted butter, 1/4 c. granulated sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Slice yams 1/2-inch thick.
Combine with pineapple, butter, sugar and cinnamon in a 2-quart casserole.
Microwave at High for 4 minutes.
Combine 1/2 cup chopped pecans and a 1/4 cup light brown sugar.
Sprinkle on top and microwave at High for 2 to 4 minutes.
If dish is not hot or topping has not melted after 2 minutes, rotate dish 1/4 turn before continuing to microwave.
