In a large bowl, pour in scalded milk.
Add salt, shortening, 5 tablespoons sugar and beaten eggs.
In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon sugar and yeast with the warm water.
Let yeast mixture set for at least 10 minutes and then blend with the ingredients in a large bowl.
Add 1 1/2 cups whole wheat and 1 1/2 cups white flour.
Blend this mixture to a soft dough.
