White Yeast Bread
White Yeast Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. dry yeast, 1/4 c. water, warmed, 2 c. milk, scalded, 1/4 c. butter and 2 tbsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Use the warm water to dissolve yeast.
Pour hot milk over butter, sugar and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Cool to lukewarm and add yeast and 3 cups flour; beat well.
Add remaining flour and mix well.
Turn out on floured board and knead well until smooth and satiny.
Put in greased bowl; turn once and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 1/2 hours.
Punch down and let rise 30 minutes.
Makes 2 loaves or 12 biscuits.
Bake at 400Β° for about 35 minutes.
