Western Rice
Western Rice is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. ground beef, 1 pkg. onion soup mix, 1 1/2 c. water, 1 c. cheddar cheese, shredded and 1 c. peas (frozen or canned), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Brown meat in skillet, stirring frequently.
Drain any excess grease.
Stir in onion soup mix, water, rice, peas and tomatoes. Simmer in covered skillet until rice is tender (20 to 25 minutes).
Add a small amount of water or tomato juice if it becomes dry.
Top with cheese.
Cover and heat until it melts or top each individual serving with cheese as it is served.
Serve 4 to 6.
