Washboards
Washboards is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. shortening, 2 c. brown sugar, 2 eggs, 1/4 c. water and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

π¨βπ³ Instructions
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
Add water and vanilla, then dry ingredients.
Mix in coconut and chill dough at least 2 hours.
Roll into balls and flatten into an oblong about 1/4 inch thick and press each cookie lengthwise with floured fork to give washboard effect.
Bake 10 minutes in 400Β° oven.
