Walnut Cake
Walnut Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c margarine, 1/2 c vegetable shortening, 2 c sugar, 5 egg yolks and 2 c flour (cake flour), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cream shortening, margarine, and sugar.
Beat until mixture is smooth.
Add egg yolks and beat well.
Combine flour and soda and add creamed mixture, alternating with buttermilk.
Stir in vanilla and walnut flavoring, coconut, and nuts.
Fold in egg whites.
Pour batter into 3 greased and floured 9 inch cake pans. Bake at 350Β° for 25 minutes.
Cool and frost.
