Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Sift dry ingredients into pan you will bake in (8 x 8-inch).
Make 3 holes in mixture; in first hole put in the vinegar, in second hole the melted shortening, and in the third hole the vanilla.
Next put in the cold water and mix well. Bake 30 minutes.
