Vinegar Pie
Vinegar Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 2 egg yolks, 1/4 tsp. salt, 2 tbsp. butter or margarine and 1 c. cold water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Mix sugar, egg yolks, salt, butter or margarine and flour (dissolve flour in a little water first) and the rest of the water and vinegar together.
Cook over hot water, about 25 minutes. Cool a few minutes to luke warm.
Pour filling into the unbaked pie crust and bake in 425° oven until the pastry is nicely browned.
Beat the egg whites, add a tablespoon of sugar per egg and flavor with lemon juice.
Beat until the whites form a peak meringue.
Brown lightly in a 325° oven.
The use of the meringue is optional.
