Combine shortening sugar; cream thoroughly.
Add beaten egg.
The dry ingredients together and add to the creamed mixture alternately the milk and vanilla.
Drop by teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet and bake in a moderate oven at 375Β° for minutes.
Makes 50 cookies 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
