Upside-Down Apple Pie

Arrange nuts, flat sides up, in butter in deep 9-inch pie pan.
Pat brown sugar over nuts and cover with a thick circle or pastry, 1/8 inch thick.
Trim edges.
Mix remaining ingredients and spoon into pastry.
Cover with top crust.
Bake in pre-heated moderate over (350Β°) for about 40 minutes.
Cool for 5 minutes. Serve warm, plain or with whipped cream or ice cream.
