Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Sift flour, baking powder, soda, cinnamon and salt.
Add gradually.
Stir in oatmeal, coconut and nuts.
Beat well.
Drop by teaspoonful on cookie sheets.
Bake at 350Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes 5 dozen.
