Turtle Pie
Turtle Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (9-inch) baked pastry shell, 12 caramels, unwrapped, 1 (14 oz.) can eagle brand condensed milk, 1 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate and 1/4 c. margarine or butter, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Preheat oven to 325Β°.
Melt caramels with 1/3 cup of condensed milk over low heat.
Spread evenly over pastry shell.
Melt chocolate and margarine over low heat.
Beat eggs with remainder of condensed milk, water, vanilla and salt.
Add chocolate mixture; mix well.
Pour over caramels.
Top with pecans.
Bake 35 minutes or until center is set.
Cool and chill before serving.
