Turtle Cake
Turtle Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 box german chocolate cake mix, 1 (14 oz.) bag kraft caramels, 1/2 c. evaporated milk, 1 c. nuts and 1 c. chocolate chips, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Mix cake as directed. Pour half of the batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake 15 minutes at 350Β°.
While cake is baking, melt in a double boiler the caramels with milk and butter.
(It is better to have this already prepared.)
When cake is done, pour caramel mixture over cake.
Sprinkle the chocolate chips and 1/2 of the nuts over the cake and pour rest of the batter over this and sprinkle rest of nuts on top.
Bake another 20 minutes.
