Top Of The Stove Meat Loaf is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. ground beef, 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs, 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed tomato soup, 1/4 c. finely chopped onion and 1 egg, slightly beaten, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Thoroughly mix beef, crumbs, 1/4 soup, onion, egg and seasoning.
Shape firmly into loaves.
Brown on both sides in skillet in shortening.
Cover, cook over low heat 25 minutes. Spoon off fat.
Stir in remaining soup, water and mustard.
Top loaves with cheese.
Uncover and cook 10 minutes.
