Tomato Cake
Tomato Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 lb. butter or margarine, 2 1/2 c. sugar, 3 egg yolks, 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce and 1/2 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Sift flour; measure it, then sift again with all dry ingredients except the sugar.
Cream the shortening and sugar; add the egg yolks, then add the sauce (to which the 1/2 cup water has been added) alternately with the dry ingredients.
Add vanilla. Bake at 350Β° for 45 minutes in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
