Cream butter and sugars.
Add beaten eggs.
Add baking soda dissolved in hot water.
Sift together flour and salt, and add to butter mixture.
Stir in nuts, chocolate chips and vanilla.
Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheets and bake at 375Β° for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes 100 small or fewer large cookies.
