Toffee Bars
Toffee Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. butter or margarine, softened, 1 c. brown sugar, packed, 1 egg yolk, 1 tsp. vanilla and 2 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Grease baking pan (13 x 9-inch).
Mix thoroughly the butter, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla.
Blend in flour and salt.
Press evenly in bottom of pan.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350Β° or until very light brown.
(Crust will be soft.)
Remove from oven. Immediately distribute chocolate chips on crust.
When chocolate is soft, spread evenly.
Sprinkle with nuts.
While warm, cut into bars about 2 x 1 1/2-inches.
Makes 32 cookies.
