Thumbprint Cookies
Thumbprint Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/4 c. brown sugar, 1 c. flour, 1/4 c. shortening, 1/4 tsp. salt and jelly, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Mix brown sugar, shortening, butter, egg yolk and vanilla in large bowl.
Mix in flour and salt to form dough.
Shape into 1-inch balls.
Beat egg white slightly.
Dip dough in whites, then cover with nuts.
Place on cookie sheet, 1 inch apart.
Press thumb deeply into center of each.
Bake 8 to 9 minutes at 350Β°.
After cookies cool, fill center with jelly.
