3 c. sugar

1 c. corn syrup

1/2 tsp. red or green food coloring

1 1/2 tsp. peppermint

In medium saucepan, add sugar, corn syrup and half cup of water.

Cook over medium heat without stirring until candy thermometer registers 300° or until small amount of mixture forms hard brittle threads when dropped into cold water.

Remove from heat.

Have lollipop sticks ready on flat surface; place on top of wax paper and pour mixture on top of stick and let cool.

Remove lollipops when hardened.
