Texas Straw Hats
Texas Straw Hats is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 lb. ground beef, 2/3 c. chopped celery, 1 c. chopped onion, 3 tbsp. margarine and 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Brown ground beef with celery and onion in margarine in a large skillet, stirring until ground beef is crumbly.
Drain. Add tomato paste, catsup, water, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, chili powder, thyme, salt and pepper.
Mix well. Simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour. Serve over corn chips and top with cheese. Yields 6 servings.
