Texas Slaw
Texas Slaw is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 medium cabbage, chopped, 2 medium onions, cut in slices and separated into rings, 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. vegetable oil and 1 tbsp. celery seed, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Layer chopped cabbage and onions in large bowl.
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon sugar over top.
Combine vinegar, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, mustard and celery seed; bring to a boil.
Remove from heat and add oil.
Bring to boil again.
Pour over cabbage and onions. Cover tightly and store in refrigerator overnight.
Stir occasionally.
Drain and stir before serving.
This will keep in refrigerator for two weeks.
