Texas Pralines

Combine first 3 ingredients; cook together until the syrup forms a soft ball stage when tested in cold water (220Β°).
Remove from stove.
Add pecans, vanilla and butter.
Beat until mixture begins to hold shape.
Drop the candy from a spoon onto wax paper. Wrap in foil and store in a tightly covered container.
