Texas Cornbread Dressing
Texas Cornbread Dressing is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 10 (2-inch) cornbread muffins, crumbled, 5 c. chicken or turkey broth, 2 medium onions, chopped, 2 eggs, beaten and 3 tbsp. butter or margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Soak cornbread and white bread in broth in a large bowl about 10 minutes.
Stir until liquid is absorbed.
Saute onions and celery in butter until tender.
Add sausage and cook over low heat until sausage is browned.
Drain.
Add mixture to bread mixture. Add eggs, salt and pepper; mix well.
Bake in greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch dish in a 350Β° oven for 45 minutes until lightly browned. Yields 8 to 10 servings.
