Sift flour, sugar and salt into a large bowl.
Bring to a boil: butter, water and cocoa.
Pour over flour mixture and mix. In another bowl combine well-beaten eggs, soda, buttermilk and vanilla.
Add to other ingredients and mix well.
Grease and flour a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch pan.
Bake for 20 minutes at 375Β°. Frost hot cake.
