Texas Brownies
Texas Brownies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. all-purpose flour, 2 c. granulated sugar, 1 stick butter, 1/2 c. shortening and 1 c. strong brewed coffee or water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Use a large mixing bowl.
Combine the flour and the sugar in a heavy saucepan.
Combine butter, shortening and coffee or water. Pour boiling mixture over.
Add the buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla.
Mix well using a wooden spoon or high speed of electric mixer.
Pour into a well buttered 17 1/2 x 11-inch jelly roll pan.
Bake at 400Β° for 20 minutes or until brownies are done in center.
While brownies are baking, prepare frosting.
