Tea Cakes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1 egg, 1/2 c. butter, melted, 1/4 c. buttermilk and 1 tsp. baking soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Beat egg.
Add sugar and butter (barely melted).
Mix soda with buttermilk and add to mixture.
Add vanilla and work in flour. Roll dough lightly.
Add extra flour until rolled out like biscuits and cut.
Bake at 375Β°.
Makes 3 dozen.
