Tamale Pie
Tamale Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. ground beef, 1 pkg. corn tortillas, 1 medium onion, 1 large can tamales and 1 small can tomato sauce, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Brown meat. Add onion and tomato sauce. Season to taste.
Set aside.
Line a large dish with corn tortillas.
Add tamales. Add half of the meat on top of the tamales (may split tamales lengthways, if desired).
Make second layer of corn tortillas, tamales and meat.
Place grated cheese on top. Add approximately 10 ounces water to dish. Cover with foil, loosely.
Cook at 300° to 350° for about 15 to 20 minutes until cheese melts evenly. Uncover and cook for about 5 or 10 minutes more.
You may serve with picante sauce as desired.
