Tamale Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. hamburger, 1/2 c. chopped onion, 1 c. diced celery, 1 (16 oz.) can whole kernel corn and 16 oz. (2 c.) canned tomatoes, drain and keep juice to use later, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cook hamburger until done and drain.

Add all remaining ingredients to hamburger.

Let cook until you cook your yellow cornmeal; mush.

Mix 5 cups boiling water, 1 cup tomato juice, a little cayenne pepper, and a little salt.

Add 2 cups yellow cornmeal, stirring slowly constantly until thick.

Line a 3-quart casserole dish with corn mush, it will be thick, then pour all in skillet.

Then put the rest of meal on top.

Bake, uncovered, in oven at 375Β° for 30 minutes.

Serve with grated Cheddar cheese.
