Tadpole-in-a-Hole
Tadpole-In-A-Hole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with shortening, 1 egg, 1 (12 oz.) can kernel corn, 1 (4 oz.) pkg. shredded cheddar cheese and 1 (7 or 8 1/2 oz.) pkg. corn muffin mix, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Heat oven to 400Β°.
Grease sides and bottom of a baking dish. Crack the egg into the mixing bowl.
Add undrained corn and half of the cheese to the egg.
Mix well with a wooden spoon.
Add the dry muffin mix.
Stir until the ingredients are wet.
(The batter will be thick.) Spoon into baking dish.
Open sausage links and pat dry.
Arrange links on top of batter.
Bake about 30 minutes until top is golden brown.
Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
