Cream butter and sugar.
Add syrup and mix in.
Mix flour and soda.
Then add to first mixture and combine thoroughly.
Divide into 4 portions.
Make 4 ropes about 9 to 10-inches long.
Lay them across cookie sheet and press with fingers to flatten.
Bake in 300° to 325° oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until light brown.
