Susan's Crusty Bread
Susan'S Crusty Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. yeast, 2 c. lukewarm water, 1 1/4 tbsp. salt, 1 tbsp. sugar and 5 c. white flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Dissolve yeast in water.
Add salt and sugar; stir thoroughly. Add whole wheat flour first, then blend in white flour.
Makes a fairly stiff dough.
Shape into a ball.
Place in a greased bowl and grease the top of dough.
Cover with towel and let stand in warm place until doubled (1 1/2 hours).
Turn dough out on a lightly floured surface.
Makes 4 small loaves.
