Surprise Corn Bread Sticks is an easy dinner. Made with 1/3 c. plus 1 tbsp. firmly packed brown sugar, 2 tbsp. honey, 2 tbsp. butter or margarine, 3/4 c. chopped pecans and 1 (15 oz.) pkg. corn bread mix, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine sugar, honey and butter in a small saucepan, stirring occasionally, over low heat until it boils and sugar is dissolved. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon nuts into each of 12 average-sized corn stick forms.
Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the hot syrup over the nuts.
Prepare corn bread mix, according to package directions. Pour into corn stick forms.
Bake 25 minutes at 450Β° until lightly browned.
Immediately invert onto serving platter and serve hot.
