Surprise Cookies is an easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. margarine, 1/2 c. powdered sugar, sifted, 1 c. flour, sifted, 2 tsp. rum extract and 1/2 c. maraschino cherries, drained, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Preheat oven to 325Β°.
Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
Stir in flour, rum extract and nuts; blend well. Wrap a tablespoon of dough around each cherry.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 25 minutes, cool slightly.
Roll in additional powdered sugar and finely chopped nuts.
