Sugar Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. flour, 1 c. sugar, 1 tsp. soda, 1 tsp. cream of tartar and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Mix dry ingredients as for pie crust and cut in shortening (I always used lard.)
Add remaining ingredients.
Roll out on floured board.
Cut with large cookie cutter.
Sprinkle cookies with sugar, if desired.
