Sugar Cookies

Cream butter in large mixing bowl.
Add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla, mixing well.
Combine flour, salt and baking soda; add to creamed mixture, blending well.
Divide dough into thirds; roll out onto floured surface. Place on lightly greased cookie sheets, about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 375Β° until lightly browned.
