Strawberry Glaze Pie
Strawberry Glaze Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (9-inch) baked pie shell, 3 baskets hulled strawberries, halved or quartered if desired, 1 c. sugar, 1 c. water and 3 tbsp. cornstarch, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Mix sugar and cornstarch in saucepan.
Add syrup and water. Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil and is thick and clear.
Remove from heat and stir in Jell-O; stir until completely dissolved.
If a darker color is desired add red food coloring.
Cool sauce and add berries.
Pour in pie shell and refrigerate 2 hours or more.
Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
Serves 6 or 8.
I save a few big berries to put on top of whipped cream.
