Sponge Cake
Sponge Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. cake flour, 1 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. baking powder and 6 eggs, separated, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Beat 6 egg whites with 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar until soft mounds form.
Add 1/4 cup sugar and beat until stiff.
Combine egg yolks, cold water, vanilla and lemon.
Blend egg yolk mixture with dry ingredients.
Beat 1 minute.
Fold egg yolk mixture into egg white mix (1/4 at a time).
Do not stir.
Pour into ungreased tube pan.
Cut through batter to remove bubbles.
Bake at 325Β° for 60 minutes.
Invert pan and leave until cool.
