Sponge Cake
Sponge Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. cold water, 3 eggs, separated, 1 1/4 c. sugar, 1 1/2 c. flour and 1/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Beat egg whites stiff.
Set aside.
Put cold water in a large bowl.
Add egg yolks.
Beat until light.
Add sugar and beat 7 minutes (do not fail here; this is the secret of a light cake). Sift flour twice. Add baking powder and salt. Add dry ingredients to egg yolk mixture. Add egg whites. Fold carefully and add vanilla.
Pour into ungreased tube pan and bake 45 minutes in a 350Β° oven.
