Split Pea Soup is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 lb. split peas, 1/2 c. chopped celery, 1/2 c. chopped onion, water to cover and salt and pepper to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Soak peas overnight.
Combine peas, celery, onions, carrots and ham.
Cover ingredients with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat.
Cover with lid and simmer until vegetables are tender.
Water may be added if soup becomes too thick.
