Split Pea Soup
Split Pea Soup is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 8 c. water, 1 lb. dried split peas, 1 lb. ham without bone in or 2 lb. smoked ham, 1 medium onion (1/2 c.) and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Boil peas for 2 minutes; remove from heat and let stand 1 hour.
Rinse well.
Add to peas, ham, onion, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer 1 hour or until done.
Cut ham from bone and simmer until vegetables are done (45 minutes).
