Bring pot of salted water to boil; cook spaghetti until tender, 8 to 10 minutes.
While spaghetti is cooking, make sauce. Put oil, garlic and onions in a skillet over medium-high heat. Saute until onion is soft but not browned.

Add tomatoes, olives and chicken broth.
Simmer for 3 minutes; add basil.
Drain spaghetti; return to pot.
