Shuck corn; wash.

Cut the kernels off the cob with a sharp knife.

Scrape the juice out of the corn cob into the corn.

Heat the drippings or margarine in a large skillet.

Add the corn, flour, sugar, water, milk and seasonings.

Stir together, bringing mixture to a boil.

Stir the corn constantly until it starts to boil.

Cover, reduce heat and simmer until corn is tender, about 25 to 30 minutes.

If necessary, add more water and more sugar (1/4 cup).
