Southern Chocolate Pie
Southern Chocolate Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/4 c. sugar, 4 eggs, separated, 4 tbsp. cocoa, 4 tbsp. flour and 1 1/3 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
In saucepan, beat egg yolks slightly; add 1 cup sugar slowly until mixed and creamy.
Sift dry ingredients and add to sugar mixture.
Mix until all blends; add milk and vanilla gradually and cook on low heat until thick.
Pour into baked pie shell.
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Add 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cream of tartar.
Top pie with meringue and brown at 400Β°.
