South of the Border Special
South Of The Border Special is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 lb. ground beef, 1 clove garlic, minced, 2 tbsp. chili powder, 1/4 tsp. dried oregano and 1/2 (1 lb.) sack plain or nacho chips, crushed, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Brown beef, onion and garlic in skillet.
Drain fat.
Stir in water, tomato sauce, chili powder and oregano.
Pour half the mixture in 9 x 13-inch pan.
Top with half the beans and half the chips.
Repeat layering.
Cover and bake at 350Β° for 30 minutes. Top with remaining ingredients.
This serves 8 to 10 and is a good way to use up stale chip pieces at the bottom of the bag.
